WHAT IS A LIGHTING CONSULTANT?
A lighting consultant is like a designer who focuses only on how light works in a space. They don’t sell you fixtures like a store, and they’re not the electrician who wires things up — instead, they’re the expert who helps you plan the lighting so it looks good, works properly, and prevents costly mistakes.
Here’s how we help:
So think of a lighting consultant as your lighting strategist — the same way you’d hire an architect for structure or a landscape designer for your yard. They don’t just make things “bright,” they make sure your space feels and functions exactly the way you want.
WHY INVEST IN A LIGHTING CONSULTANT?
Because light is the one element of your space you experience every single day — morning to night. Done right, it makes your space feel welcoming, functional, and beautifully intentional. Done wrong, you’re stuck with dark corners, glare, wasted energy, or costly re-work once you realize something was overlooked.
Here’s what a lighting consultant brings to your project:
Good lighting is the difference between a space that’s simply built, and a space that feels alive, intentional, and yours. It’s not just about lights — it’s about how you experience your space every single day.
PROCESS
Every space deserves lighting that feels as good as it looks. Our collaborative process blends creative vision with technical precision—so your project unfolds smoothly, from concept to construction.
DESIGNED WITH INTENTION.
DELIVERED WITH CARE.
DISCOVERY
We begin with a complimentary consultation to understand your vision, review plans or photos, and discuss the scope of your project. You’ll receive a custom estimate based on your needs and goals.
DESIGN + PLANNING
Our first in-depth consultation focuses on how your space will function and feel. We then prepare and issue a preliminary lighting design and legend package, including thoughtful fixture placement, product suggestions, and control strategies.
REVIEW + COORDINATION
In a follow-up consultation, we review the initial design together, answer questions, and develop any refinements. One revision (up to 2 hours) is included to ensure the design fully aligns with your intent. Finalized lighting plans and legends are then issued, ready for your team to use.
CONTINUED SUPPORT
We’re available to support your team throughout the build, whether that’s coordinating with trades, providing clarification, or conducting a site visit by request. Optional printed plan sets are also available for ease on-site.
